Locate Lipedema Specialists
The LF Provider Directory is designed to help people with Lipedema, their healthcare providers, and others identify professionals who have told us they treat and/or diagnose Lipedema in their clinical practice.
Diagnosing Clinician: Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Associates who are comfortable diagnosing, many of whom also provide conservative therapy for Lipedema
Therapists: Physical, occupational, and massage therapists who typically cannot diagnose but are often knowledgeable about Lipedema and provide conservative care
At this time, our directory does not include clinicians who perform liposuction procedures.

It can take years, sometimes decades, for patients to receive a positive diagnosis of Lipedema. While awareness is growing, widespread knowledge about Lipedema is still not common among all healthcare professionals. It is important to see a provider who has knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating Lipedema. We are looking for Doctors, Physician Associates, and Nurse Practitioners who will self-identify that they offer a diagnosis of Lipedema and are familiar with/comfortable offering conservative management.
We will rely on self-reported information from individual clinicians listed in the Directory regarding their training, experience, and certifications. To be included in our Provider Directory, a clinician will have to have self-reported their medical credentials, state licensure number, and confirmation that they currently diagnose Lipedema patients.
If a vascular provider indicates they perform invasive procedures, LF requires they sign a Provider Agreement for Vascular Specialists prior to inclusion in the directory.
Although LF will continue to make reasonable efforts to maintain up-to-date information in its Provider Directory databases, LF does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for a particular purpose of the information in these databases, or in any way endorse the individuals included therein. The above warranty is the only warranty of any kind, either express or implied.Please note that this directory will not be comprehensive or inclusive of all clinicians who diagnose Lipedema. Our Directory will feature a list of healthcare providers who have indicated their familiarity with diagnosing Lipedema.

Physical, occupational, and massage therapy professionals are one of the few clinical specialties offered Lipedema-specific training, and they play a central role in the Lipedema care ecosystem.
We rely on self-reported information from individual therapists listed in the Directory regarding their training, experience, and certifications. The path to Lipedema diagnosis and treatment can be long. Since there is no easy laboratory or imaging test for Lipedema, there is also no single profession that administers the diagnosis.
